The traditional amber-colored Kvevri (pitch) wine aged on skin is probably the most remarkable achievement of the Georgian wine culture. This is especially true for Rkatsiteli, the number one variety in Georgia in terms of distribution and popularity. Made from Rkatsiteli grapes harvested in the Tsarapi’s of Kardnakhi, this wine is a classic of this style. Golden/amber in hue, it brings forward bouquets of dried persimmons and white cherry preserve, along with other sugary aromas. This full-bodied, soft, structured wine offers a good intermingling of acidity and velvety tannins, and has a long finish. This magnificent amber wine is a direct successor of IWSC 2023 winner – Rkatsiteli 2019.
Food pairing: The cuisine of Eastern Georgia comes first, as it entails a lot of meat: Khashlama, Chakapuli, stews. Good with fried chicken and satsivi. Also goes well with walnut-seasoned and flavored dishes.
