The Alazani river runs through Kakheti, and the Saperavi cultivated on its banks are quite diverse. This Saperavi comes from Akhmeta, the right bank, and is made in the Kvevri, in the traditional manner. It is quite strong and highly alcoholic (14%). This cherry-colored wine first reveals blended aromas of black fruits and berries, with ripe bullace and blackberries prevailing. It is a full-bodied wine with noticeable tannins, and though very young, it is nonetheless soft and balanced. This outstanding dry red Kvevri wine was awarded a Gold Medal (95 Pts.) at Decanter 2023 and a Silver Medal at IWSC 2023.

Food pairing: Saperavi is primarily a meat wine, going well with steak, barbecue, game, and roast poultry. Roasted vegetables or mashed beans are also excellent pairings for Saperavi.
